Dipterists Forum Summer Field Meeting 2020 - POSTPONED UNTIL 2021

The 2020 Summer Field Meeting will be in Cornwall, based at Exeter University’s Penryn Campus near Falmouth. The DF last visited Cornwall in 2001 and we are looking forward to revisiting the area. It will be a chance for those of us living in land-locked counties to visit some coastal sites, but there will be plenty more of interest (see Alan’s article in the Autumn 2019 Bulletin).

The price for the week will be £420. If you wish to share a double room, the price for the full week is £280 per person. We have a small number of twin rooms available to share, again £280 per person. Be aware that these are student rooms, so might be rather cramped for two people. If you wish to share a room, please arrange a roommate before booking and inform us who they are when you book.

What’s provided?

• A room in Glasney Parc. More information here. All rooms are en-suite (with shower). Desk space is available (except in shared twin rooms).
• Use of a kitchen. These are shared between seven rooms and contain a fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, etc. for lunch preparation.
• Full breakfast and two course evening meal (vegetarian option available, self-service cafeteria).
• Access to a workroom for specimen pinning, meetings etc. This will be located in a secure building adjacent to the Cafeteria.

The DF offers up to three half-cost bursaries for this meeting.

We have block-booked 25 rooms. To reserve your place a deposit of £100 (per person) is required, with the full payment payable by 1^st May.
